I rented a jet ski while at Lake Powell one year on a mini vacation.  After returning home my parents bought a 1994 SeaDoo SP and a Yamaha VXR.  We rode them for a year and I of course was totally hooked.  That winter my wife Terri and I bought a 1996 SeaDoo SPX.  Since that time it has been the jet ski of choice.

Super Dave (Yellow SPX) and I (Green SPX) regularly go to Boyd lake to ride.  Here are some pictures of us riding this Summer (2000).  On this Trip we had another friend Red Baron Ken (Purple XP) along.  We had a great time and all of us got real wet.  Especially Ken when I gave him a bath.

Dave and I just went to Glendo Wyoming for some riding. We decided to also try  riding at Guernsey Wyoming which led us up the North Platte River towards Glendo.  Let me just say that once you ride a river you can never really return to just lake riding.  We did not take any pictures of this trip but let us give you a little visual.  The river is flowing at a rate strong enough that it takes us 1/4 throttle to maintain our position in the current.  In one area of the river we had 5 foot rapids to travel through.  On the way back down on my attempt to ride the rapids hit the second wave the SPX went straight up in the air and over on top of me.  We parted ways and I came up floating downstream from my jet ski.  Dave rescued both us and pulled us to the bank.  The next time we are there we will take pictures for the web.  I think we will also take some helmets for the river part.

HEY Dave and I MADE IT to Guernsey to ride the river again.  YEP, we made it this time to the Glendo Dam and back on 1 tank of fuel.  Ok, so it was fumes when we arrived back at camp.  But what a blast.  Check out the pics below. We are planning another trip yet this summer.  Can't get enough. More to come later when the rest of the film is used and processed.

Seminoe Res

Seminoe Dam was completed April 1, 1939.  The reservoir elevations is 6357 feet.  It has 180 miles of shoreline and a capacity of 1,017,279 acre feet of water.  We rode both arms of the reservoir completing between somewhere near 45 miles a day.
